The Storms, An Excerpt from my book, Poetic Reflections: A Compilation of Poems (2009)

Sometimes it storms so intense and so frequent

that I wonder if the sun

shall ever

shine again.

I look up in the sky, night after night,

longing for a clear, star-filled,

cloudless night, with no

thunder rolling, lightning,

rain, wind, or hail.

When the sun finally peaks out from

among the big, fluffy clouds,

I realize more than ever that

God is merciful.

God is yet alive and He is good.

He is our source and He is all we need

to survive the storms, the lonely nights,

the heartaches, the struggles,

and the frightening

diagnoses the doctors give.

The storms are tests, tests of faith,

endurance, and loyalty.

The storms make us more grateful

to see the

 sunshine again.
